Meet the instructor

Michelle Richmond

Michelle Richmond is the New York Times bestselling author of six novels and two award-winning story collections. Her books have been published in 31 languages and optioned repeatedly for film and television.

She has taught in the Masters of Fine Arts programs in creative writing at the University of San Francisco and California College of the Arts and has served as Distinguished Visiting Writer at St. Mary's College of Moraga, Bowling Green State University, and Notre Dame de Namur University. She has also designed and taught novel writing courses online for Stanford Continuing Studies. She is the founder and publisher of Fiction Attic Press.

When do my courses unlock? 

You get immediate access to SUBSTACK for AUTHORS the moment you enroll (access for 18 months).
THE ART of PLOT unlocks on January 1, 2024 (access through June 2025).
NOVEL in NINE begins on February 5, 2024 and lasts through October (access through August 2025).
REVISING the NOVEL unlocks on July 1, 2024 (access through October 2025).
PATHS to PUBLISHING unlocks on January 15, 2024 (access through June 2025).
You can schedule your first 50 pages critique any time after March 1, 2024.
You can schedule your first one-on-one coaching session as early as January.

How long do I have access to the courses?

You have access to every course for 18 months after each course unlocks (see FAQ above for detailed information on individual courses).
You have the entire year of 2024 to schedule your one-on-one coaching sessions and submit your first 50 pages for critique.

Can I pay in installments?

Can I buy the courses separately?

Absolutely! Every course is avaialble for individual purchase on the school homepage. If you decide to purchase the bundle, you will save hundreds of dollars off the cost of individual courses.

What is your refund policy?

Get a full refund within 14 days if you change your mind. If you select a monthly payment plan, you can cancel at any time.

If you cancel after using one-on-one coaching sessions, your refund will be prorated to include any sessions you have used. If you cancel after receiving the First 50 Pages Critique, your refund will be prorated to include the critique package.
