What students are saying...

This course was incredibly useful. Michelle gave us an easy-to-follow, step-by-step process for setting up our Substacks. Thanks to the videos that accompanied the lessons, I could see exactly what I needed to do. She also gave us lots of great ideas for posts. I'm so glad I took this class. I sign up for a lot (too many!) online classes, and this one was by far the most useful. Great class!
Cynthia Gentry, author of seven nonfiction books,  creator of the Substack The Mind Reels
Michelle Richmond's Writing for Substack course is superb. I had tons of ideas but zero structure in my head, and Michelle was an excellent guide in helping me "get out of my shell". The lessons are very well structured, informative, easy to follow, and packed with excellent advice (that you don't get anywhere else) on writing in general and writing for Substack specifically. Plus, I have found Michelle to be extremely supportive, kind, welcoming and inspiring...I can't recommend this course enough!

Your Instructor

Michelle Richmond, New York Times bestselling author and avid Substacker
In 2021, I switched all of my long-running newsletters to Substack. I now connect with the readers of my books through Novella, share essays on travel and writing at The Wandering Writer, share articles on writing and publishing through The Caffeinated Writer, and publish fiction by new and established writers at Fiction Attic.

I decided to teach Substack for Authors after becoming a passionate user of the platform. Through trial and error, I learned best practices for migrating an author newsletter to Substack, getting a Substack up and running, serializing fiction on Substack, engaging new readers, and working with paid subscriptions. I'm excited to share what I've learned with you. I can't wait to see what you create in Substack for Authors.
